Niagara Falls Hotels

Niagara Falls hotels might not be what all travelers expect at the so-called Honeymoon Capital of the World, but there are plenty of hotels to suit travelers' tastes, particularly for those who are traveling on a budget. Motels and hotels in Niagara Falls continually fill up during the peak season, so reservations are necessary to ensure the accommodations of your choice.
The Niagara Falls discount hotels are generally found along Lundy’s Lane or in the center of Niagara Falls town. Also affordable and slightly livelier areas to stay are River Road or the Clifton Hill area.
If you are dreaming about Niagara Falls lodging overlooking the falls, prices go up considerably. The Niagara Falls hotels with the best views are on Oakes Drive near the Minolta Tower. This is the area where the high-end Niagara Falls hotels are, and where costs are highest. The best of these luxury hotels is Sheraton on the Falls, many rooms having outstanding views and balconies. Prices almost double during the summer.
Staying at the nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake (sixteen miles downstream) is a much more appealing option for atmosphere and scenery if you aren’t stuck on the idea of staying right in Niagara Falls. There are more than 100 Bed and Breakfasts to choose from in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the best of these in restored nineteenth-century villas. The prices of B&Bs are generally not cheap, but their charm and uniqueness is delightful, making these a popular choice among those who can afford more expensive lodging options than the Niagara Falls discount hotels. There are also several nice Inns and hotels in this town. The Olde Angel Inn is the oldest inn in town, dating back to the 1820s. This inn is both affordable and full of character.
The Niagara Falls Youth Hostel near the bus and train station is an affordable option for those looking to stay in town. This Niagara Falls lodging is no more inspiring than the nearby Niagara Falls discount hotels, but it does have laundry facilities and a kitchen.
Along Lundy’s Lane there are several campgrounds to choose from. The Niagara Glen View Campground is located by the river just north of Clifton Hill and occupies a nicer location than those on Lundy’s Lane. Camping may cost more than you expect, but it's still cheaper than the prices you'll find at Niagara Falls hotels.
